CryptoPunks
Stewarding a Collection into the FutureCryptoPunks is the proto-NFT collection started by Matt Hall and John Watkinson as a social experiment in digital ownership. It is now the face of an on-chain art movement and one of the highest-grossing art collections of all time, with roughly $3B in sales to date.
Yuga Stewardship
When the collection changed hands in 2022, it needed stewardship and a clear vision to secure its legacy and its place in the canon of digital art. We started with a museum program focused on education and institutional partnerships, placing works in the permanent collections of MoMA, the Centre Pompidou, LACMA, ICA Miami, and the Toledo Museum of Art, along with exhibitions at ZKM.
Restoration came next, technical and archival. We made careful updates to the original marketplace, a contract many technologists consider a work of art in its own right. We codified the palette and released fine art prints with Avant Arte, then spent a year recording the community's history and lore, released as a 12-part video series alongside an international Punks documentary.
We built the brand from the ground up: early internet culture meets modern brutalism, with quiet nods to the art's pixel origins. Museum-quality gravitas that stays playful, balancing nostalgia and innovation.
NODE Foundation
Part exhibition space, part learning lab, part cultural engine, the Infinite Node Foundation was founded to give internet-native art the weight it has always warranted but rarely received. Its first act was acquiring CryptoPunks, with a mandate to build the permanent home the collection had always deserved.
Within a year, NODE opened 10,000, the first exhibition devoted entirely to CryptoPunks, in January 2026 at its permanent space in Palo Alto, drawing over 1,000 visitors a day. Artist-led by Matt Hall and John Watkinson, the show presents CryptoPunks as a living artwork: a self-running system where every offer, bid, sale, and transfer is both an economic event and an aesthetic one.
I've worked with the collection through two chapters: first as General Manager after its acquisition in 2022, leading the museum program and institutional strategy, then helping build its permanent institutional home at NODE Foundation. I joined NODE in its earliest days. On strategy, I helped develop the frameworks and positioning for its public launch: communicating the shift from corporate ownership to nonprofit stewardship, building out operations and messaging, and establishing three pillars (preservation, community, expansion) as a genuine decision-making tool. I worked across exhibition design and production, including artist management and exhibition development, from early development through opening. Editorial work spanned the full scope, from NODE's mission and institutional voice to exhibition texts and public communications.
